Le vice-président de chambre Elie Ferzli a indiqué que des divergences concernant l’identité des prochains ministrables serait à l’origine du retard pris dans la formation du nouveau gouvernement.

Cependant, un accord aurait été conclu entre les partis politiques concernant la forme et la répartition confessionnelle des prochains ministres, ajoute Elie Ferzli. Des différends internes seraient ainsi apparus tant d’un point de vue interne “qu’externe”, note le député sans en préciser les causes.

“La conférence prévue similaire aux conférences de Doha et de Taif pourrait être reportée si le gouvernement n’est pas formé”, annonce Elie Ferzli sur les ondes de la Voix du Liban au sujet de la conférence d’aide au Liban qui devait initialement se tenir à Paris, en octobre et qui a déjà été repoussée au mois de novembre.  

Le député a mis cependant mis en garde contre tout délai supplémentaire concernant la formation du prochain cabinet, estimant que le Liban “pourrait retourner à l’âge de pierre dans les prochains 2 mois et alors que des libanais quittent en raison “des divisions aiguës de la société libanaise”. Elie Ferzli a noté que la mise en place de la feuille de route française et des réformes économiques qu’elle prévoit restent conditionnées à la mise en place de ce gouvernement.

In an attempt to unblock the situation, the former prime minister promised the Amal movement to allocate the portfolio of the finance ministry to a member of the Shiite community. He also reiterated that Lebanon could do without a state of default, thus denying the gravity of the economic crisis however experienced by the population, with 55% of it now living below the poverty line while the economic recession has reached 29% according to some reports for the year 2020.

However, Saad Hariri’s proposals for an 18-member cabinet clash with the Presidency of the Republic, who points out that if the Shiite and Sunni communities choose their representatives, the Christian representatives in the new cabinet would also be chosen by the former. designated minister. General Aoun de facto considers that the current proposals of the Prime Minister contravene both the Lebanese constitution and the national pact.

The latter, for his part, accuses the head of state of wanting to obtain a blocking third party within his new cabinet.
