He thus underlines that young people in Lebanon constitute a population at risk because they have not yet received the vaccine.
Although younger patients are less likely to die from infection, they can be infected with the virus, he recalls, which could lead to permanent disabilities for them.
As a reminder, local hospital sources fear the arrival in Lebanon of the famous Delta variant or Indian variant, responsible for the increase in the number of cases in various countries including Great Britain or even in Israel and this despite a large number of vaccinated people. They thus underline that Lebanon remains vulnerable to the disease and ask for a restriction of tourist arrivals in Lebanon in order to allow the hospital sector, already strongly impacted by the previous wave and suffering due to the economic crisis and the shortage of drugs to be able to cope with it.
