While traveling in France, the commander of the Lebanese Army, General Joseph Aoun would have warned, in front of the French authorities, against the collapse of the military institution, due to the economic and social crisis that Lebanon is going through.
This information comes as many countries, including France, have sent the Lebanese army urgent food and medical aid to support the military institution.
Some security sources report growing discontent among the military and members of other security forces over their deteriorating purchasing power, with a local currency that has lost 90% of its value against the dollar.
France is also said to be concerned about the situation of the Army, considered to be the backbone of Lebanon and will soon provide other shipments of food and medical aid. At the same time, Paris would like to organize an international conference in June to support the Lebanese Army.
