Municipal police forces in the city of Beirut and Tripoli raided a number of petrol stations to verify that they were no longer stocking fuel, pending possible price increases.

In Beirut, petrol stations were reopened on the order of the governor of the capital by the municipal police accompanied by elements of the General Security, Judge Marwan Abboud, after finding that they still had sufficient stocks of fuel. Restrictions on motorists have also been lifted under the supervision of the police. It is a question of preserving the rights of consumers, indicate the public authorities.

The governor of the city calls on all the owners of gas stations to prohibit the filling of stripes or even plastic bottles in order to avoid any fire.

Identical measures were implemented in Tripoli, in northern Lebanon, where judge Ramzi Nahra in charge of municipal affairs also made sure that the petrol stations no longer had fuel.
