Municipal police forces in the city of Beirut and Tripoli raided a number of petrol stations to verify that they were no longer stocking fuel, pending possible price increases.
In Beirut, petrol stations were reopened on the order of the governor of the capital by the municipal police accompanied by elements of the General Security, Judge Marwan Abboud, after finding that they still had sufficient stocks of fuel.
