According to Assem Araji, 80% of the covid beds are already currently occupied. This situation could deteriorate all the more as the medical sector could not be able to cope with a new major epidemic of covid 19 after the end of the year holidays, “if the citizen does not comply and relevant ministries and departments do not apply preventive measures and measures, and if citizens fail or refrain from getting vaccinated “.
On the medical sector side, hospitals are also sounding the alarm, with a warning against an inevitable health disaster within a few days, noting that the number of coronavirus infections is increasing significantly, and with it the need to hospitalization, especially in intensive care units. They say they have had to close COVID departments due to financial difficulties and lack of necessary human resources. These financial difficulties also induce shortages of oxygen, laboratory reagents, drugs and medical supplies necessary given the demands of suppliers to be paid in fresh dollars.
