The Karpowership company indicated that it had resumed electricity production as a gesture of goodwill on behalf of Electricité du Liban via its 2 barges present in Lebanon and more particularly in Zouk Mosbeh and Jiyyeh. For the company, it would be a question of making it possible to find a solution to the current dispute between the Lebanese authorities and itself in the coming weeks.

She had accused last May the Lebanese authorities for not having honored his services for more than 19 months and decided to disconnect its barges from the EDL network, depriving Lebanon of 400 MGW.

Previously, the financial prosecutor, judge Ali Ibrahim had accused the company of having paid 7 million dollars to some local officials and fined $ 25 million. He then ordered the seizure of these barges pending payment of these sums.
