No new government announcement is scheduled after a week marked by the transhipment of the crisis between presidency of the republic and prime minister designate in Parliament where a debate was being held.

Speaker Nabih Berri is said to have reiterated his support for the appointment of Saad Hariri as the next prime minister and called for the formation of a new council of ministers as soon as possible despite a crisis that appears insurmountable.

Sources close to the Presidency thus accuse Saad Hariri of wanting to appoint on his own the Christian ministers of his government and also of having both the ministries of justice and the interior, key portfolios within the framework of the fight against embezzlement and while some court cases implicate some of his relatives such as the governor of the Bank of Lebanon Riad Salamé.

Negotiations between the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun and Prime Minister designate Saad Hariri seem to have come to a standstill. No appointment is on the agenda as the Maronite patriarch urged Saad Hariri to present an updated list to the head of state on the occasion of his Sunday sermon, thus taking the wrong step its previous positioning in this area. For his part, the prime minister-designate seems to stick to the list of 18 ministers he already presented last November, having therefore not yet taken into account the remarks, including from his allies in his tug-of-war. , namely those concerning the constitution of a government of 24 members, a suggestion of Nabih Berri and Walid Joumblatt.
