The islamic republic of iran , is a country in West Asia. It is bordered to the north by the Caspian Sea, to the south by the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman or Persian Gulf. It shares borders with Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iraq (Kurdistan Regional Government), Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey.
