From a media source, it is indicated that the Lebanese forces are conditioning the signing of the petition of the Amal movement calling for the opening of an extraordinary parliamentary session at the end of the paralysis of the cabinet.

As a reminder, the Amal movement demands the opening of an extraordinary parliamentary session thus extending the parliamentary immunity enjoyed by the former finance minister Ali Hassan Khalil and the former public works minister Ghazi Zoaiter, two close to the president of the Chamber of Deputies Nabih Berri and both of whom are under indictment in connection with the investigation to determine the circumstances of the explosion of 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate on August 4, 2020. The publication of an arrest warrant by Judge Tarek Bitar in charge of the investigation targeting Ali Hassan Khalil had led the ministers of the Amal movement and Hezbollah to boycott the sessions of the Mikati III cabinet, paralyzing it since November.

Since then, a showdown has also taken place between the Presidency of the Republic which requires the reactivation of the Milkati III cabinet while the critical issues on the table of the Council of Ministers multiply, such as the negotiations to be carried out with the IMF in the face of the economic crisis that the country of the cedars is going through, and the president of the chamber Nabih Berri who thus tries to protect his close relations vis-a-vis the legal procedures and which demands the relinquishment of judge Bitar.
