After the refusals of the former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, the leader of the Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea and that of the movement Marada Sleiman Franjieh, it is up to the former deputy Walid Joumblatt to announce his absence from the national dialogue proposed in the President of the Republic General Michel Aoun.

In an interview given by him to the daily Al Joumhouria, Walid Joumblatt considers that the dialogue is useless, already accusing “the other party of having refused the defense strategy” during previous meetings under the patronage of the former president Michel Sleiman.

In addition, the financial and economic recovery plan and administrative and financial decentralization should be discussed by the Council of Ministers, therefore calling for a reactivation of the Mikati III government which has not met since the beginning of November following the boycott of Shiite ministers of the Amal movement and Hezbollah.

He therefore calls for an immediate meeting of the Council of Ministers to discuss the modalities of reviving the Lebanese economy through the release of economic aid from the IMF and the international community to end the collapse, however accusing Hezbollah do not wish that such an agreement could be concluded.
