The Lebanese authorities deplore 61 deaths on Thursday (March 25th). 3,560 people have also been diagnosed positive in the past 24 hours, while outgoing Finance Minister Ghazi Wazni has announced the release of credit lines needed to purchase 1.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.

The presidency of the republic has also announced that a meeting of the High Defence Council will be held tomorrow at the presidential palace in Baabda.

This information comes as a first shipment of this vaccine arrived in Lebanon yesterday. 33,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines were delivered via Beirut International Airport.

Moreover, after Syria yesterday which has already sent 25 tons of oxygen to Lebanon out of the promised 75 tons,it is Israel’s turn to propose sending respirators for people affected by Coronavirus COVID19 in Lebanon, says a German news agency.

A total of 452,281 have been infected since 21 February 2020, when the first case was discovered in Lebanon.

3,560 were diagnosed positive on that day. 295 people have been re-infected with the virus.

The daily number of local contaminations is 3,826 cases. 34 cases from abroad have been diagnosed.
The total number of people affected by the virus is 447,737 local cases and 4,544 cases from abroad.

2,364 people are currently reported to be hospitalized and 982 people are in critical condition and 283 are on respirators.

92,975 are currently active and 353,342 are cured

61 deaths have been announced in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who have died has been 5,964 since the onset of the disease in Lebanon on 21 February 2020.
The ratio of positive tests remains high with the %. figure of 17.4%.

How many people have been vaccinated?

3,353 people were vaccinated for the first time and 5,159 people received a second dose in the last 24 hours.
A total of 112,980 people received a first dose and 59,820 people received both doses.
