The presidency of the republic indicates in a press release that President Michel Aoun signed decree 8,662 inviting the partementaires to an extraordinary session of Parliament from January 10 to March 21 according to a specific agenda. This decree had previously been signed by Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

It will be a question of allowing the adoption of the necessary reform projects within the framework of the release of the necessary economic aid to the country of the cedars vis-a-vis the crisis which it crosses. Is specified by the press release, the proposal to extend the working time, the adoption of a formal capital control or the text relating to the obligation to return funds transferred abroad.

It will also be for the government to present its government declaration and face a vote of confidence.

As a reminder, the ordinary session of the government ended with the end of the year 2021. It was marked by the publication by Judge Tarek Bitar in charge of the investigation into the explosion in the port of Beirut, of indictments targeting several former ministers and current deputies, therefore enjoying parliamentary immunity during parliamentary sessions. .
