Reacting to reports of a threat to resign in the event of indictment of the Governor of the Banque du Liban Riad Salamé accused of embezzlement and money laundering, Prime Minister Najib Mikati denied any interference in the work judicial.

This information comes as the prosecutor of the Mount Lebanon Court of Appeal, Judge Ghada Aoun, yesterday published an administrative measure to leave the territory affecting the head of the central bank, citing evidence against him and recalling that the latter is the subject of several investigations abroad, particularly in Switzerland and France.

He therefore believes that the judiciary should not defend the people but preserve the institutions, follow the procedures, including those related to the forensic audit of banks and preserve the rights of depositors while preserving the economic and financial actors still remaining to maintain the land of cedars.

Prime Ministers Najib Mikati, who was speaking on the occasion of the launch of the “Update on the reality of the environment in Lebanon” at the invitation of the Minister of the Environment Nasser Yassin, reiterated his support for the reactivation of his government, in order to continue the process of rescuing Lebanon.

“Lebanon deserves all the sacrifices and the Lebanese are impatiently awaiting the return of life in Lebanon, saving it from the risk of bankruptcy and deterioration,” said Najib Mikati, who calls for an end to the boycott of his cabinet meetings.
