People over the age of 40 can now be administered the AstraZeneca vaccine without an appointment according to the doses available in the vaccination centers set up by the Ministry of Health.

This information comes at a time when Lebanon currently has 200,000 doses, many of which had been previously refused by people because of increased risk of thrombosis according to certain studies published in European countries. However, these risks are less important than those associated with the consequences of an infection with the COVID19 coronavirus.

The list of centers carrying out this operation is available on the website of the Ministry of Health.

However, people aged 55 to 59 with chronic illnesses will still be able to benefit from Pfizer vaccines.

For the time being, Lebanon already has 545,220 doses of Pfizer vaccines and 750,000 doses should reach the Land of the Cedars next June. 160 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines also arrived via only 2 deliveries. In addition, 2.5 million doses should also arrive via the United Nations COVAX program.

A total of 437,581 people received a first dose and 190,788 people received both doses
