The Confederation of Transport Unions held a press conference on Wednesday January 12 to detail the action program for the day of strike action that will take place tomorrow.
The president of the CGTL Béchara Asmar took the opportunity to denounce the non-respect by the Lebanese authorities of the agreements concluded concerning the transport allowances granted to the civil servants, denouncing also the continuous deterioration of social and economic conditions.
For his part, the president of the transport confederation Bassam Tleiss called for a “day of rage” this Thursday from 5 am to 5 pm and detailed the various meeting points.
In Beirut, these will take place at the level of Dora, the Semaan gallery, the church of Mar Mikhael, Khaleh, the old road to the airport or the sports city, the axis of Béchara Khoury and UNESCO.
Gatherings are also planned in Bhamdoun, Jounieh, Damour, Saïda, Dahr el Baidar, Deir el Ahmar, or at the entrances to Tripoli in northern Lebanon, the Chekaa tunnel, Batroun, Ammioun, Baalbeck
