The contract to manufacture the Russian anti-covid vaccine in Lebanon is expected to be signed during the second week of June, said outgoing Minister of Industry Imad Hobballah from the steps of the Presidential Palace in Baabda.
The Russian vaccine should thus be produced locally by the Erwan company, some of whose officials such as the CEO, Abdul Razzaq Youssef and Vice-President Ruida Daham were present at this meeting.
In total, 30 to 60 million doses of vaccines should be produced annually with raw materials imported from Russia, destined for the local market but also for export. The production process should start within 2 months, say company officials.
