US authorities have denied that one of their Beirut-based diplomat was arrested in Turkey after providing a false passport to a Syrian national.
As of Wednesday, the Turkish authorities had indicated to have arrested a named DJK in Istanbul after the latter had exchanged his clothes and a false passport for the sum of 10,000 USD with a Syrian national for the time being unidentified but also arrested.
The US State Department indicates this Thursday that if an American national was indeed arrested, this denrier was not a member of this administration. However, it would benefit from consular protection services for its nationals abroad.
