Attempted robbery of a branch of Bank Byblos in Zalka

The national news agency says Bank Byblos’ Zalha branch was the target of an attempted poaching this afternoon.

Armed men thus attempted to enter the establishment and injured an employee. However, the establishment’s alarm system caused the evildoers to flee prematurely, who fled without any loot.

As a reminder, Lebanese banks have been the subject of severe criticism since the establishment in November 2019 of informal capital controls.
