Resumption of images from Wednesday, with a village perched 1000 meters above sea level known for its traditional Lebanese houses covered with tiles.

Located in the famous souks of the locality, once the real economic heart of the region, this house presents the traditional Lebanese and triple arcades overlooking a living room. In Douma, the orientation of the facades generally overlooks the valley, refreshing the inhabitants of these beautiful residences in spring and summer.

In winter, the bay windows are transformed into a Solarium in addition to the famous coal stoves on sunny days.

The place, it is said, enjoys a temperate climate recommended by doctors for its health benefits, something that the sarcophagus in the main square of Douma seems to confirm, this one belonging to Castor, priest of the god Asclepius. This would date from the 4th century AD.

Today Douma is better known for having been the place where “Safar Barlik” was filmed with the national diva #Fairouz in 1967; or closer to us, “And now, where are we going” by Nadine #Labaki in 2010. These 2 films belonging to the National Heritage have made the locality a regional tourist hotspot.
