Pope Francis sent a letter to the President of the Republic blessing the entire Lebanese people. He thus responded to a previous letter from the head of state sent on the occasion of the Easter holidays.
Evil and death will not have the last word on the path to life. Faith in the resurrection puts the power of conversion into our hearts to build a better world. I pray that the spirit of wisdom will support the president and his assistants, lighting the ways before them to lead Lebanon on the paths of peace, freedom and joy.
He also affirmed his full solidarity with « beloved Lebanon » and addressed his prayers to the Virgin Mary.
