Public debt reaches 97.3 billion dollars

Public debt continues to grow, show the latest statistics released by the finance ministry. It would thus reach 97.3 billion dollars, an increase of 4.4% over a period of one year.

The internal public debt increased by 3.9% to reach 60.6 billion dollars and the external public debt by 6% to reach 36.7 billion dollars.

As for the net public debt, it stands at $ 86.8 billion.

This information comes as Lebanon announced a state of default last April, therefore renouncing to pay maturing Eurobonds and negotiations with the International Monetary Fund remain suspended while negotiations with creditors have still not been announced. .
