Lebanese authorities say 167 cases have been diagnosed in the past 24 hours. Three deaths are also to be deplored.

This information comes while in Israel where the Delta variant would be at the origin of a sharp increase in the number of contamination in recent days. Among the newly infected, 40% would have benefited from the massive vaccination campaign and where 60.8% would be immune. The famous Delta variant or Indian variant would be involved, much more contaminating than the Alpha variant of British origin.

The situation in Israel leads the Lebanese health authorities to be cautious, in particular at the level of the international airport of Beirut where one fears the arrival of people contaminated by this variant Delta. They also call for the maintenance of essential distancing measures and note that different countries have already chosen to lock up part of their population in the face of it.
